Côr Cymraeg Coventry is a singing group and we sing exclusively in Welsh.
We feel that even now Welsh music and culture does not receive the attention it should. Welsh bardic culture – poetry and music – can be traced back to Roman times and it is a rich and beautiful legacy. This includes epics, poems and songs of war and praise performed before princely courts, classical arrangements, hymns, folk songs and songs of the people.
The three or four part choir is an accessible part of that legacy which we love to explore. We are a small group of six members so we welcome new requests to join. We have performed at churches, pubs, bars, and at Warwick Arts Centre before the screening of the Welsh film Hedd Wyn.
