Translation
We celebrate the glory of our forefathers, the famous giants of Wales
Men who see the bright star through the black cloud
After many a cross-breeze we will resurrect in our age
The old teachers of learning and manners of Wales that was.
Sound of poem and song, Old pure Wales
Today rises the tide of Wales smiling, Wales pure
Children of Wales that was, old beloved Wales
We will raise the name of pure Wales.
The nobility of a country with its people
Respectfully they bow down at her breast (i.e. before her)
Gentle women and youths
Put ….. on this altar
Come to her gentle melodious harp Old tunes simple in their charm
The echo of odes of heather and rush of Wales that was.
